Mental Health Day organized by Down Town Hospital

Good day Friends, Today, since early morning I was very busy with Dr. P.K. Sharma ( MMBS, MS,MD, Cardiologist ), for the Inspection and Coordination of World Mental Health Day organized by Down Town Hospital, Dispur, (Guwahati). It was a great exhibition event and I have the chance to interact with many B.Sc Nursing Students (most of them were from 2nd Semester students) from different colleges and nursing schools from parts of the Guwahati. There were 10 -15 groups participation on the defined this theme “Depression: A Global Crisis”.

You know what the day today is ….../ It was the public awareness about mental health issues.

The day promotes open discussion of mental disorders, promotion and treatment services. This year the theme for the day is “Depression: A Global Crisis”.

Do you know?

Depression affects more than 350 million people of all ages, in all communities, and is a significant contributor to the global burden of disease. Although there are known effective treatments for depression, access to treatment is a problem in most countries and in some countries fewer than 10% of those who need it receive such treatment.

Thanks ...... Have a nice day !
